Dear friends,
Loving greetings from Haiti. Dominique and I were priviledged to host a team led by Dr. Ramesh Richard of RREACH (Dallas,
TX) including staff, board members and friends of the organization who visited Haiti at the end of April for an intense week
of ministry and learning. On Friday April 29th, they visited the STEP seminary where Dr Richard addressed the student body
and a group of alumni on Spirituality in Ministry. On that same occasion Dr. William Lawrence of Dallas Theological Seminary
spoke on Integrity in Ministry. The 200-seat chapel in the Underwood Building was full and the participants thoroughly enjoyed
both topics. Refreshments were served to all and the RREACH team handed out nice ties to everyone.
The next day (April 30th) we had an Opinion Leaders Luncheon at the grand Karibe Convention Center in Petion-ville and
the topic was "Foundations for Public and Private Morality: a Judeo-Christian Perspective on Ethics and Spirituality."
Dr. Ramesh Richard, Global Counselor and Spiritual Philosopher, spoke through a translator for 1 hour and 15 minutes, yet
no one was tired of his presentation. The message was based on the parable of the men who built one on the rock and the other
on sand. At the end, Dr. Richard invited those who wanted to trust in Christ to wave at him while all heads were bowed.
From the response cards, over 20 persons indicated they had made a decision to trust in Christ that day.
Then we had 3 days of training for pastors at Kaliko Beach, a nice resort some 41 miles north of Port-au-Prince. 300
pastoral leaders attended the All Haiti Pastors Conference on Biblical and Contextual Preaching (May 1-4). Dr. Richard taught
his Scripture Sculpture seminar on preaching in the morning. In the afternoon we had 9 workshops on various topics from Pastors'
Spirituality to the Pastor and Entrepreneurship. The participants testified that this was one of their best training and
they expressed appreciation for the organization of the event.
We are deeply grateful to the Lord and to the people of RREACH International for the events we were privileged to plan
for April 30th and March 1-4. We had prayed that the friends and staff of RREACH who were coming would witness the presence
and work of God in our land in spite of the obvious economic poverty and the spiritual warfare that is our normal context
of ministry. The team came to give, expecting nothing. The Lord provided protection and health for them. They returned home
deeply moved and inspired by what they saw. Please pray with us that the seed that was sown will bear fruit and that there
will be workers to gather in the harvest.
Grace to you.
Edner & Dominique
